Chic Petite Parisian Bride

Amandine had two main ideas for her wedding dress, she had always imagined a sleek and slinky dress all in lace, but then red-carpet inspirations started to appear. Amandine’s main worry was that by veering towards something a little ‘fashionable’ may not be as timeless as something more classical. My advice was, and I think always will be, that beautiful objects will always be beautiful, they can be appreciated on so many more levels than simply fashion, so it never needs to be a worry - as long as you love it with all of your heart.

I was secretly pleased then, when Amandine decided that the above design should be her wedding dress. We had come to a few design conclusions, but I felt that this was the one. The design retains a certain amount of bridal classicism but has some special details too which I was really excited about creating.

A low-backed bodice, with an off-the-shoulder, scalloped Chantilly lace decollete. The bodice was embroidered with several types of lace that were 'striped’ horizontally around the body, these included a fine Guipure lace, chorded lace and vintage laces which were pretty with a modern twist, some a little more geometric patterned, and some more organic and flowing with leaves and tiny flowers, with some scattered onto the decollete. The dress has simply smooth and flowing silk chiffon skirts, gently gathered at the back to add a touch more volume.

Amandine and Junior married in the South of France, and their photographs are just beautiful! They were lucky enough to have two photographers; Flora Chevalier of Flora Photographie and Didier Neupap of Neupap Photography, which provided a wider perspective to the memories of the day. Didier Nuepap has a grainy, retro reportage style that is quite masculine (but allows for pretty details too), whereas Flora’s style is ultra crisp and feminine.
