Understated, Chic and maybe a touch of boho.

Understated chic, and boho don’t always sit side by side in a descriptive sentence, but I think it works for Melissa’s ceremony dress.

Lots of high fashion ideas, combined with the need for simplicity for a laid back French countryside wedding.

A simple and clean silhouette, for the tiered skirt, each layer specked with pearls, and scalloped lace trapped between an organza trim to create a divide between each tier. The skirt was originally more full and folding, but simplicity was key for Melissa.

The bodice in the finest Calais lace, with barely a design, but more a spiders mesh with subtle delicate detail - no overt floral motif here!
The high, round t-shirt-style neckline kept the bodice modern and sleek, and the “off-shoulder” deep scalloped frill, while reflecting the deep tiers of the skirt, gave a bohemian twist that fluttered as she moved.

Melissa’s Manolo Crystal mules bring the outfit back to fashion, along with a pearl embroidered, long Length blusher veil, secured over a slim and simple hair wreath.

Melissa also commissioned a second dress which was originally meant to be worn underneath the ceremony dress.

Designed in style and proportion to be worn together - the ceremony dress is slightly sheer and so you would have gotten a glimpse before the reveal in the evening. A strapless crepe dress,
It featured a boned bodice with a triangular cutout at the front waist, slim Pencil-style skirt with front splits for movement and trimmed with hand-strung pearl fringing and enhanced with pearl cabouchons.

Melissa’s wedding fell on the hottest day of 2019 - record breaking heat, and hotter still in France and Instead Melissa chose to wear a gorgeous underwear body in Ivory under the ceremony dress instead, which still looked just as amazing.

i usually say to brides that a dress won’t affect you in the heat, a lace, a silk - a hot day is a hot day not matter what. But in think in the heat that Melissa faced on her wedding day, and given the intended design of essentially a double dress - it was the right decision to substitute for a more free layer of the La Perla bodice.
