Gold, Sequins and Glam.
There was only a short brief for Lucy’s wedding dress : Gold and Sequins and Glam.
It’s not often I get to live out my own sparkling dress dreams, but I found a girl just as daring as I am when it comes to glitter!
I found a gold sequin fabric in a muted gold tone, which was sparkly but not garish.
The silhouette was to be very slim to the body with a deep v-neckline, so the detail of the dress was added to the cut of the dress, creating a star-burst that radiated from the waistline at the front, and wrapped around to the back.
The sleeves were a kind of butterfly cut, which draped over the shoulder and gathered into the back waist.
The dress was also backless, revealing just a hint of Lucy’s tattoo. I made Lucy a necklace too which was a simple gold chain with a single gold Swarovski crystal at the front, then at the back, the two long chain ends hung long each with a gold chained tassel and clusters of Swarovski crystal at the top of each one.
Lucy is a Make-up artist and had quite a clear vision of her own look for her wedding day, and also styled her lovely mum on the wedding morning too. I gave Lucy some gold lace from my collection also, which was sewn into the hair by stylist Vicki Lord.
