Real Bride wears the Gres Made to Measure gown - A Modern White Wedding Dress with a Grecian Twist
If you’re worried about rain on your wedding day, let these be the images that prove that your wedding will be so so happy (and so so extremely beautiful!).
These images are by Stephen Bunn, and look as though they’ve been picked from the smouldering pages of Vogue.
Ioana chose the Madame Gres dress from the made to measure bridal collection. With inspirations from 1940′s designer Madame Grès, who crafted intricate and delicate drapes, and which cut and divided the dress into interesting and sculpting sections. Ioana is a design architect herself, and so it made perfect sense that this dress was for her, with simpler geometric shapes, but considering the female body.
The skirts are layered in crepe satin with a silk chiffon over-layer, laying flat at the front quarter, and lightly gathered the rest of the waistline, flowing into a smooth train at the back.
To customise the look, we added a sweet bow to the back shoulder and a custom leather buckle belt in white, which feels both modern and vintage at the same time.
To finish the look, and to fulfil Ioana’s craving for just a little bit of pretty, I commissioned some pretty laser cut daisies in matching chiffon to the dress and embroidered each one to the veil in a cascade, finishing the centre of each with tiny silver glass beads.
I hope you love this Bride, and dress and set of images as much as I do!
