Folkloric Boho Wedding dress

Annika is a hugely talented artist, whose own work is ultra feminine and inspired by nature, feathered woodland animals in particular and her wedding dress design very much reflects her artistic style (And actually her wedding too - a lakeside ceremony in Stockholm with woodland surroundings). I think it’s so amazing when a dress perfectly reflects a person; style is a representation of our personalities, and I think we got Annika!

Annika actually studied fashion design, and so had a very specific design in mind for her dress. The bodice is made in tulle and chiffon, with the tulle providing a chevron shaped halter yoke embroidered with stripes of lace, ribbon and mother of pearl beads. The chiffon and silk layers blouson over the waist.
The bodice is backless, with strips of lace making the straps which criss-cross, with a lace motif between the shoulder blades, an a lace trim gently edging the edge of the bodice.
The waist belt was made from an embroidered white ribbon entwined with silver threads. Droplets of lace were embroidered to give a little more detailed, and little glass pearls added the each leaf of the lace.
The skirt was to be flowing, but not excess in fabric and slightly fitted on the top hip. The train was not too long (the was a jetty aisle to navigate, as well as looking after her little son!), but I feel the length of the train compliments the shape of the skirt, and perhaps a longer train would not have been so nice! The skirt is embroidered with strips of embroidery, cut from a pre-existing chiffon fabric - but they were in the wrong position that didn’t work with our design! The strips were placed alternating in the short and long motifs, and the scalloped embroidered edge was also cut from the chiffon and applied to the hem of the skirt, along with really beautiful embroidered lace silk fabric flowers which looked like leaves and dahlias and daisies cut from a fabric, which were applied as if growing from the hem of the skirt.
