Traditional White Lace Wedding dress with a Split Twist
I think I always had an especially romanticized vision of what Indre’s wedding might be like. Being her homeland, Indre returned to Lithuania to host her wedding. A place I’ve never been, so it’s always seemed mythical to me, and her wedding photo’s have enhanced the magic of the place that I have only imagined, dark green forest and fields of flowers, perfect!
Indre wanted a dress that was pretty, but grown up. Details that were subtle and not overpowering, and most importantly to feel comfortable and able to move - especially while running around after her small son Joe!
The under bodice is made in silk with a soft sweetheart neckline. The over bodice is made in a really pretty lace, with a scalloped edge neckline and cuffs and embroidered with additional french lace on the sleeves and on the decollete. The lace also drapes down, skimming over the waist, flowing naturally into the flowing skirts.
The dress does not have a train, and to make sure there was still enough swish and drama, the skirt was cut in a soft circular style from chiffon. A thigh split was cut into to front, and draped with french lace to show off Indre’s enviable legs.
I hope you enjoy Indre’s dress and wedding photo’s!
